What is happening in Foundation Stage?

At the start of the Spring term, we are basing our learning on the children’s interests around doctors and our bodies. We will be reading the story of Funnybones and creating our own skeleton pictures. We have already been performing lots of medical examinations and bandaging lots of injuries in our doctors and hospital role plays.

The children have all settled in well during their first half term at school and have already learnt so much. The children are already settled into a routine of daily learning including funky fingers to strengthen their gross and fine motor skills, phonics lessons, maths lessons, topic sessions, forest school and PE lessons. Here are some examples of the children’s work that they have done this half term.

Building an obstacle course together.

Finding sounds hidden in glitter.

Smelling the herbs in the outdoor area.

We found lots of numbers on a number hunt around the school site.

Meeting the school dog Fergie.

We are all really excited to welcome the children on Monday. We have got lots of learning planned based on the favourite activities mentioned at home visits.
