Melbourn Primary School has a school uniform and we ask you to support us by sending your child to school in the correct uniform.
This consists of: –
- Melbourn Primary School sweatshirt or cardigan with the school motif
- White polo shirt (optional with motif)
- Grey trousers or skirt
During the summer tailored shorts may be worn as well as red, burgundy or candy gingham dresses. On the sunnier days children should bring a hat or cap for playtimes.
All other items are available in most supermarkets and uniform stores.
Key stage one children will also need a Melbourn Primary School book bag.
Black shoes are to be worn throughout the year. No trainers, crocs or high heels are allowed. Socks and tights should be white, grey or black.
For PE and Games we think it is healthy and hygienic for children to change into PE Kit.
Indoor PE & Games: Burgundy PE polo shirts and black shorts.
Outdoor PE & Games: Children will need black jogging bottoms, burgundy PE polo, hoody in their house colour and trainers.
Summer Term Swimming Kit: A one piece swimming costume for girls and above the knee shorts for boys. A towel is also required.
Jewellery, except for small stud earrings, is not allowed for safety reasons and watches, if worn, must be named as they are removed for PE and games lessons. Likewise, earrings have to be removed for PE, games and swimming, so children need to be able to do this for themselves and be able to keep them safe during lessons. We recommend that ear piercing takes place at the beginning of the six week summer holiday.
Please make sure that your child’s clothes are named with a woven name tag or permanent marker as it is impossible to identify unnamed lost property.
