Ethos

We believe that everyone at our school should feel valued and has a unique contribution to make. To this end we recognize that our emotions play a major part in our ability to access learning. We begin each day by greeting each other and allow time for pastoral needs. Praise and encouragement is integral to everything we do.

We believe that a safe and stimulating environment and curriculum should be provided to inspire and allow all our children to flourish. We believe that wherever possible learning should be exciting and hands on whilst encouraging children to ask questions. Above all we believe that fun should go hand in hand with rigor so that the highest possible academic standards can be reached.

We believe we should show respect for each other and our environment. We recognise the rights and needs of other people and everything we do is based on equal opportunities for all. We endeavour to consider the needs of others in the wider world. We are a values based school and we teach key values which are an integral part of our school curriculum.

Partnership is key to our success and we pride ourselves on the positive relationship we have with our parents and community, we actively encourage parents and carers to participate in their children’s learning and we provide many opportunities for this to happen.
